Urban planning challenges such as climate change, migration or resource scarcity do not stop at national borders - they require networked thinking across borders. It is therefore important to adopt international perspectives and learn from the experiences of other countries - and to transfer them to our own planning processes. Internationality is therefore central to the profession of urban planning.Jochen Gauly reports on his projects forGIZ worldwide, including Ukraine. Joachim Schares presents current urban planning projects, primarily from the Arab world. Silke Weidner adds her expertise on the New Leipzig Charter as a model for EU-wide urban development. Anna Kuzyshyn and Poliksen Qorri-Dragaj present international projects in which urban resilience is strengthened in planning. They will then discuss what conclusions can be drawn for teaching and the job profile.

The colloquium will take place in a hybrid format - in person at RPTU in Kaiserslautern and digitally via Zoom. For the certificate of participation from the Chamber of Architects, please send an e-mail with your personal data including your membership number to: stadtplanung@ru.rptu.de The Urban Planning Colloquium is a series of events organized by the Chair of Urban Planning at RPTU Kaiserslautern (since 2017).
