The Diploma thesis was a written examination that completed the scientific education of the Diploma course Spatial and Environmental Planning. The diploma thesis was supposed to show that the students were able to solve a specific problem in planning on their own, according to scientific methods and within a limited time frame.

The diploma thesis could be written in single or in teamwork (max. 2 people).  Writing in teams of two students was only possible, if a clear distinction between each part could be seen and assessed individually.
